How to Reach Gate Sardinia from Olbia, Cagliari and San Teodoro

Gate Sardinia is located at Via Marco Polo 1, Agrustos, 08020 Budoni (NU), on Sardinia's east coast. Reaching the club is straightforward from any point in the area: 30 minutes from Olbia, 15 minutes from San Teodoro, around 3 hours from Cagliari. This guide covers every route, with practical directions on how to reach Gate Sardinia by car, taxi or other transport.

From Olbia and Costa Smeralda airport

Olbia Costa Smeralda airport (IATA: OLB) is the main arrival point for anyone flying in. It sits about 30 km from Gate Sardinia, a 30-minute drive.

The route is direct. From the airport, follow signs for SS 131 dcn heading south (Nuoro/Siniscola). Stay on SS 131 dcn for around 25 km to the Budoni/Agrustos exit. After the exit, follow signs for Agrustos. Gate Sardinia is at Via Marco Polo 1.

From the centre of Olbia, the route is the same. Take SS 131 dcn south and follow the same signs. Travel time from the city centre is around 25 minutes.

From San Teodoro

San Teodoro is around 15 km from Gate Sardinia, a 15-minute drive. From San Teodoro, take the provincial road heading north towards Budoni. The coastal road runs through a scenic stretch between the two towns. Follow signs for Budoni and then for Agrustos.

San Teodoro is the base for many visitors along the east coast. Its proximity to Gate makes the evening run easy, even for those who prefer not to drive and choose a taxi or private transfer instead.

From Cagliari

Cagliari is around 260 km from Budoni, a 3-hour drive. The main route runs along SS 131 (Carlo Felice) heading north to Macomer, then SS 131 dcn heading east to Budoni. The coastal alternative via Tortolì and SS 125 (Orientale Sarda) is more scenic but significantly longer.

From Cagliari Elmas airport, the route is identical. SS 131 is a fast road for most of the journey. The last stretch on SS 131 dcn is a two-lane. The practical call is to leave in the late afternoon to arrive in time for the night.

From Sassari and the north-west

From Sassari, the distance is around 150 km, a 2-hour drive. The route runs along SS 131 heading south to the SS 131 dcn junction, then east towards Budoni. From Porto Torres and Alghero Fertilia airport, add around 30 minutes to the travel time from Sassari.

Parking

Gate Sardinia has its own car park. The Agrustos area also offers parking in the surrounding streets. In peak season (August), arriving early relative to opening makes parking easier. The club opens at 23:00.

Taxis and private transfers

Taxi services run in the Budoni, Olbia and San Teodoro areas. In peak season, availability can be limited at night. Booking ahead, especially for the return, is the safer choice.

From Olbia and San Teodoro, NCC (private hire with driver) services also operate and can be booked ahead by phone or app. For groups, an NCC split across several people often costs roughly the same as multiple single taxis.

Public transport

Night public transport in the area is limited. ARST buses connect Olbia, Budoni and San Teodoro during the day, but evening and night services are reduced or missing during summer months. Relying on public transport to reach the club at night is not recommended.
